ABOUT ME

My name is Maria Hartman and I founded Travenda to work as a freelance translator. In August of 2024, I received my B.A. in Translation Studies. For my bachelor thesis, I translated 30 pages of an epic poem and wrote an accompanying commentary (the thesis, which was written in Swedish, can be found here).

Since 2018 I have worked with post-editing on the side, mainly within the fields of e-commerce, customer service, product information and fashion. I’m also a volunteer at Translators without Borders (humanitarian aid).

I’m now looking for tasks in literary translation, but also in life science since I’ve previously studied chemistry and biology at university level. Subtitling is also very interesting, and I recently started freelancing for a large U.S. firm in subtitling.
